With a view to opening up to new collaborations and supporting the talents of tomorrow, the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège is developing, through the 2023-2024 season, a partnership with the International Opera Academy in Ghent.

The International Opera Academy (IOA) opened in Ghent in 2000 and has been offering young opera singers and pianists first-rate training organised into two-year academic cycles, which prepares them for careers as soloists or coaches. The IOA welcomes artists from all over the world and provides them with comprehensive teaching, focusing on both technical and interpretive aspects and the practical application of knowledge in the context of opera productions.

This season, several students will be part of the ORW’s artistic adventure, whether though the Orchestra Conducting Masterclass or the opera’s productions. It is a means for our opera house to forge links with a new Belgian cultural and educational player.
