La Maîtrise chante...
This season, the Children Choir will be performing a completely different repertoire to bring us two exceptional concerts! Put the dates in your diaries for December and April…
CHRISTMAS
CHOIR
CELEBRATION
FUGAIN
Oratorio de Noël op. 78 / Suite Fugain
Almost every season, the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège schedules shows (operas, operettas, musicals or even participative operas for young audiences) in which children’s voices take part, but this time, it is in a different light and in a different repertoire that the Children Choir will perform just for you!
The first concert will take place on 18th December: an opportunity to celebrate Christmas a little earlier than usual, in company of the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège’s Children Choir, the K/D/M trio (made up of Adélaïde Ferrière and Emil Kuyumcuyan on percussion and Anthony Millet on the accordeon) and recital singer Pierre Val. On the programme for this prelude to Christmas will be music, singing, storytelling and poems with the Oratorio de Noël op. 78 by Jean-Charles Gandrille (commissioned by the trio from the composer), Saint Joseph cherchant les trois rois, a magnificent tale by Marie Noël and several sumptuous poems dating from the 16th to the 20th century. A first in Belgium!
In April, the Children Choir, accompanied by a trio of a piano, percussion/drums and electric bass, made up of Sylvain Bousquet, Bernard Grodos and Nicolas Lehembre, invites you to celebrate spring and its colours with the Suite Fugain. It will be in full swing! In this Suite, the poly-instrumentalist, arranger and composer Gilles Massart has arranged the main successes of Michel Fugain, based around several major themes: nostalgia, festivities, hope, life and destiny.
