The story

In 13th-century Switzerland, William Tell is determined to free his people from the oppression of the Austrian invaders led by the odious Gessler. Young Arnold, meanwhile, is torn between his patriotic duty and his love for Mathilde, the tyrant’s sister. Nevertheless, the two men finally succeed in defeating the enemy during a terrible storm on Lake Lucerne, after completing the famous and terrible crossbow test…

  • Some of our productions are highly successful and can sell out quickly. If the performance you want is sold out, you should be aware that there is always a chance that seats will become available closer to the show. There are several reasons for this:

    • Reservations changed by our spectators
    • Online baskets not finalised
    • Groups adjusting their seat quotas

    In general, these availabilities reappear from a week before the performance, and sometimes even as late as the day before or on the day of the show.

    Our advice:

    • Contact our box office2 weeks before the performance for a real-time update of available seats (info@operaliage.be | +32 (0)4 221 47 22).
    • Check availability regularly on our website.
    • On the day of the show, don’t hesitate to go to our box office: seats may still be available.

    An alternative to consider: If your preferred seating category is no longer available, you can buy tickets in a lower category and go to the box office before the performance. It may sometimes be possible to change your booking to a better category (subject to a supplement), depending on availability.

    Resale of tickets between private individuals: Tickets can also be resold on the secure TicketSwap platform. However, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège has no control over these transactions and we invite you to remain vigilant when making your purchases.
